Downey's Take
Crude is stabilizing today and up $1.55 (+1.6%) this morning following the $15/bbl price crash over Monday and Tuesday. This oil selloff seems to have been a speculative unwind rather than any fundamental change in physical markets. Iran claimed to hit 4 tankers with mines yesterday (Wednesday) and additional tankers and a tugboat this (Thursday) morning. It feels like this selloff is overdone, particularly as we head into a no moonlight weekend when the US prefers to conduct operations.
European nat gas (TTF) prices have come off quite a lot the past 2 to 3 days, but remains very high heading into Winter heating.
Ethane down $0.041 (-11.6%), Propane down $0.118 (-9.8%), Isobutane down $0.159 (-8.0%), N-Butane down $0.157 (-8.0%) and Pentane down $0.168 (-7.7%), all on the sharp drop in crude prices pressuring NGL values.
